Two and loving it!

First month with a two year old, we made it! Actually, aside from the tantrums, Bryce somehow keeps getting cuter and funnier. His facial expressions, his words, the kid just cracks us up!

Here he is with an ice pop. I think we had one day warm enough for a Popsicle... Ice pops are my favorite kind. No sugar, but mostly, no sticky mess.

Several times a day, Bryce gives me that look; you know, the 'aren't you gonna chase me, mom' -look. With that hearty giggle, I can't not chase him. Anyway, the other day he ran and tried to hid in his toy box. It didn't work out too well for him.
I have since emptied, just for these occasions.

Bryce loves it when daddy comes home. I love it when daddy comes home. I love this kid, but I love that break. Let me do something kid-free, dishes or laundry, anything will do... And let me do them with that sweet background noise of laughing and playing with dad.

I don't love this picture, but I love these moments, when Bryce will kinda-sorta cuddle with me. I know this isn't really a cuddle, but it's the best we can get from this crazy kid!

Fields of Irises

I have been waiting for this iris farm in Vacaville to open for a couple months. Then when it finally did open, we could never make it. This past Saturday we finally made it out there, just in time to see a few of the irises in bloom. (When I say a few, I really mean it. We were informed there were at least 10x as many when they first bloomed.) The family who grows these beautiful flowers open the space up to anyone to just walk around, bring a picnic and marvel at the different varieties. Though it was the last weekend, we did luck out by being able to follow and hold some adorable ducklings. I probably got pooped on, but there's something about baby ducks, or baby anything, that makes me not mind so much.

Bryce did love the ducks, though he doesn't seem to in the picture. In fact he kept insisting over and over again to try and hold them. Fun day, highly recommend it.

Money is worthless

It's not surprising that Bryce doesn't understand the concept of money. We haven't encouraged it. But we found a five dollar bill in the yard today. Ty handed it to Bryce, and only minutes later, we had no idea where the five dollars went.

Where did we find it? Wadded up, in the garbage can. Awesome.

I can't be too hard on him, he has been well trained to throw things away. I blame myself.

This little stinker is Two!

Bryce had a great birthday!

We spent the weekend down in Southern California. It was a perfect party with Grandma, Poppy, and cousins! We played as much as we could outside, soaking in the nice weather, and being as silly as possible!

Great picture taken by yours truly!

New Sunglasses from Target Dollar Bin!

A giant ball like this is on our list of toys we need at our house. This thing is awesome!

It's a silly game you see. Bryce comes to you to pump up the water gun, then you are the one he gets all wet. Same thing, over, and over, and over again!

I meant to have a stronger theme throughout the party, but it turns out, the only pirate part about the party was the cake. It turned out pretty good though. I had big plans for a treasure hunt and races... But hey, at least we had cake!

We love this little man!

I guess we did have a race or two...

... And presents of course!

And ice cream the next day!

And more races, compliments of the vacant house next door!

Great Family! Always worth the Drive!

Where did April go?

The nice weather came, and we began the month enjoying time outside, sometimes we had our clothes on too.

This turned out a bit blurry, but it's such a frequent activity, I need to document it somehow.

Conference weekend, I had Bryce sport one of Ty's old Disneyland shirts. A little big, but I think it made Ty happy.

In between conference sessions we played golf, and harassed the doggies next door through the hole in the fence!

That hole kept him entertained for about an hour.

The yappy dogs helped keep him there too, I suppose.

And we discovered the world of bugs. It's kinda gross. Sometimes when he's trying to pick them up to let the bug(s) crawl on his arm, he squishes the bug, and then gets upset that the bug was no longer able to crawl around, since it was now a dead bug.

More backyard fun!

Easter Sunday my mom was out of town, and my dad had to work, so we gathered some dinner fixins' and went over to my dad's work. No where near traditional, but nothing short of great!

I love this kid!

More bug discoveries with our friend Ethan.

And this past Saturday I ran my first half marathon!

This is after the race, listening to a mariachi (sp?) band. Bryce was following their dance moves, and a crowd quickly formed to watch this stinkin' cute kid. He was not happy when we said it was time to go.

The friends I ran with: Anissa and Brent!

Actually, Anissa is the whole reason I was able to train for this. I told her a couple months ago that I wasn't fond of waking up early in the morning, but I'd get up if I knew she was outside waiting for me. I ran a 5k earlier this month and knew I wanted to run the half she's been preparing for. And that was that. We trained together, and ran together, and I love this girl! Bring on the marathon! Two months ago I would say I only ran b/c it was free exercise. Now, I kinda like it! Thank you Anissa!

My two favorite people waiting for me at the finish line!

I ran the whole way, and it felt great!

Goodbye April 2011! You were a great month!
