Got Milk?

His first milk mustache!
Ty brought Bryce down yesterday in one of his t-shirts... Anyone else having childhood flashbacks? Anyway, we decided he kinda looks like Yoda.

Happy Father's Day!

It's finally finished. A recently posted about a quilting weekend with my Aunt Lanea, and I finished the pillows, just in time for Father's day. This quilt has been in the making for so long now, it's fun to finally have a holiday I can attach it to. It began as a birthday present, anniversary, Christmas, Valentine's day, birthday... you get the idea. Pillows weren't a part of the original plan, but with plenty of scraps left over, it seemed the obvious thing to do. Ty is so good for me. He is so hard-working and inspiring and kind. He is so many good things. Bryce and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man leading and guiding our home. Ty has got it all. He's got the smarts of a genius, but the personality and charisma of a salesman (the good kind;o). He is a wonderful Father. Bryce gets so excited when his daddy comes home, because he knows his daddy is there to stop everything he's doing to play with him. It's so fun to watch them play and laugh. Bryce trusts Ty more than anyone... I know, that Bryce knows, his daddy loves him more than anyone (except me;o)
I really do think I was blessed to marry a man, who is near enough to perfection, I can feel Heaven in our home. Okay, maybe he's not thaaat close to perfection, but he's my perfection, perfect for me. I think to myself, all the time, I could never doubt my heavenly Father's love for me, how could I when He blessed me with Ty?
Happy Father's Day Ty. You mean the world to me.

He'll eat it pureed.

Bryce is a funny kid. He will eat a cookie or anything sweet, unprejudiced of size or texture. He'll eat a clump of dirt and suck on rocks every chance he can get. Anything remotely healthy and chunky, he spits right out. Luckily, he'll eat pretty much any healthy thing I offer, so long as I puree it first. So here I am, still making baby food. It's not so bad, I actually really enjoy making it, but it sure does make a mess, and anyone who knows me, knows how much I love making messes! (And for those who may not know me as well, that last comment should be joined with a hint of sarcasm.) But here it is... documented, start to finish, the process of making baby food. All that is left out is the trip to the grocery store.

Whaa-la!

And there it is. This post, I should mention, is in no way intended to show-off how cool a mom I am... okay, maybe that's part of the reason...
actually, I can't think of another.

Phase... Two? Three? I've already lost track.

I should have had these so-called "phases" planned out in my head... but it's all blurring together. All we know, is all the cabinet boxes are complete, and the drawer boxes are done as well. Me-oh-my, there is still so much more to do, but hooray for how much is done! We've got our granite, hardware... Door/drawer panels are the only things left to do before the cabinets can be assembled. Then we'll knock out a window, stain like crazy, work out all the electrical stuff... and the list goes on. But for now, we'll just say phase two is for sure... Complete!

One day, Ty and I will have some free time to sit and relax... but I bet we'll have another project going before that day arrives. I love my husband. He's so good to me!

First Baseball game!

The Oakland A's have cheap tickets on Wednesdays... cheap as in $2... can't beat that right?! And to top that, it was an Angels game, and they won! It was actually a pretty boring game, but Bryce loved it, every second of it. We thought it he would have gotten a little tired, oh no. The kid yelled and squawked the whole time. It was also pretty cold and windy, so our nose-bleed seats turned out to be a blessing. We were in the second row to the top, and were backed by a lovely cement wall that blocked the wind for us. I am also grateful for Shae, letting me snuggle with her and share her jacket, since my own layers weren't sufficient. And oh yes, the teachers joined us, making the experience all the more fun and interesting. It was a great time!

I love the next two pictures, I had to put them both in!
Bryce kept grabbing and slapping at Ty in his excitement.

A couple of our energetic teachers.
Boys really do make things more fun! I am glad they were able to join us.

Bryce, Darren, and Shae... having fun with Bryce,
and getting ready for their own little one in just a few weeks!

Naked Policeman...

Bryce has calmed down a lot when it comes to getting his diaper changed... but every once in a while he still gets squirmy and manages to get away from me. On this particular day, he ran straight for his patrol car.

Goggles of fun!

Kids! Hours and hours of entertainment.
I've decided it is impossible to be bored when there is a child in the house.

Quilting with Aunt Lanea!

Sunday night my mom, Bryce and I went up to see my Aunt Lanea. She not only has a quilting machine, but she is a quilting machine! I had started a quilt, then by the time Bryce was born, I quickly realized it would take a daunting amount of time to complete it. So I asked her to help me finish it, and now it is complete. We went, we sewed, we quilted. I even had some great scraps left over to make some decorative pillows as well. I'll take a picture of everything together later. But for now, here are some photos of our fun and busy weekend.
Uncle Chip is a chef, at least we call him one b/c he is a whiz in the kitchen. I have always thought he was a chef b/c when my Aunt Lanea first married him, before introducing him to her mother, she said he was a chef. So my grandma refused to cook for him, and when he met the family on thanksgiving day, my grandma insisted that he cook the meal. I learned just yesterday that he's technically not a chef, but comes from a long line of cooks and just has a knack for it. The salad he made for us was so delicious and beautiful, I had to take a picture.
The view from the house. There is a huge barn to the left, and passing through it will take you to the tree house and monkey bridges!
House-sitting for my Aunt and Uncle on a mission, Uncle Chip and Aunt Lanea are so gracious to invite visitors to their mountain retreat. I love this house, I wish I had a picture to post of the house itself, nestled in the mountains, but I did get a picture of their front yard... Bryce had a great time. he was a gem. Took great naps, and contented himself almost the whole time with toys and fabric.

This is her quilting machine... She taught me how to work it by having me hold her hands first, then set me loose to quilt the ginormous thing!

Below: Ironing the backing...

Uncle Chip took Bryce for a short walk Monday morning. Bryce enjoyed the rocks, and even took one as a memento.

Friends and their babies.

I don't have pictures of the friends, but we did get the babies together. It's so fun to see and visit with friends that I grew up with. Fairfield has changed a lot as people have come and gone, it was so nice visit and catch up. These are my friend Stephanie's little girls, Bryce loved playing with them...
...And just last week my good friend Shanna was in town visiting her family, so we had to get our Kenna and Bryce together. Again, no pictures with Shanna, we were lucky enough to get Kenna and Bryce to sit at the same time, and long enough for a photo.

Birthday toys = fun for all!

I am so proud of this picture. Great timing, but lots of luck too since I built block towers for a very long time while trying to get a shot like this.
Bryce got these blocks for his birthday, and I have to say I enjoy this birthday gift most of all. I get to build cool towers, and watch my crazy kid get so excited as he knocks them down. I can't seem to build the towers fast enough though... he gets frustrated with me if I make him wait too long, or wait until I can get a tower at least taller than three blocks high.
And yes, he enjoys throwing them, banging them together...

...And eating them too!

Such a cute kid.
I got up one morning before he woke up and set up a big huge tower for him... he was really excited! We just had to hold him off long enough so I could take a picture...

Bryce also got the coolest police car from his Grandma Biggs. Getting in and out, being pushed around, really, he just leans back and lets us do all the work, he doesn't even hold on to the steering wheel. And there is also a really cool siren he likes to sound. And again, he's not the only one who enjoys his police car. Our neighbors love it too.

Bubbles! Bryce's buddy Ty got him a bubble gun! I shouldn't have used it on our kitchen floor. Bryce and I were slippin' all over the place after we got done, and then I had to clean the floors.

Bubbles make great pictures!

Takin' a walk in Grandma's boots.

It was so nice having Grandma and Grandpa Carlson (Ty's folks) come down for Bryce's birthday. We had a great Memorial Day weekend with plenty of fun, games, and plenty of relaxing as well. Bryce always has so much fun with his grandparents. The morning before they heading home, Grandma brought her boots down for Bryce to try on... Pretty good fit don't you think?
