Bryce had to wait a long time before he finally got to see his Aunt Emily. They are great buds now and he loves being with her as much as he can!

Blessing Day!

Bryce was blessed on July 5th, 2009 by his father. We feel so blessed to have had family and loved ones come to join us for this special day and we are truly grateful for their love! Grandma Carlson found the same clothes Ty and Grandpa Carlson were blessed in, so it was really neat to be able to bless Bryce in the same outfit. I am so grateful to know we are blessed with the Priesthood, and have the power of God here on the earth that binds us together as families forever. Ty and I both come from loving families, and parents who have raised us by good example... we are eternally grateful for them and all they continue to do for us. Thank you. All of you.

The fourth was great. The Carlson family came up for the holiday weekend and to be here for the blessing, so they were there, and mom, dad, and cousing Scott with his family came straight from the family reunion. Naturally they were all a little tired, dad never hesitates to find a good patch of shade to nap in. Grandpas are great nappers! We had a great time. SOme went swimming, we played volleyball, bocce ball, Sammy bumbed a hot dog off the group next to us, played games and ended the day with firworks at night. It's been a few years since we came to Davis for the fourth, it was nice to be back! Waiting for the show...

Bryce and Ty's balancing trick!
It's now become a goal that I'll update this thing every Sunday... today I'll be playing catch-up for the last month, but after that I hope to be better.

Bryce came a week after Mother's day, but he made sure to make it in plenty of time for Father's day. It's so fun for me to watch Ty and Bryce together. Ty throws him up in the air already and though Bryce's hands show he's a little nervous, you can also tell that he trusts his daddy completely. He is so happy when daddy comes home. I love them both so much!

This past weekend we drove up to Uncle Scott and Aunt D'Anna's place for a goodbye party before they left for their mission. They will be serving a CES mission in Sri Lanka and we are so excited for them! The weather was a little too chilly for swimming, but our cousin Tracy decided to take her daughter Amy for a boat ride...only... she couldn't figure out how to get herself in the canoe. This is a picture of Tracy holding on to the deck, praying she won't fall in, and oblivious that there is a ladder right beneath her. We love Tracy! Ty climbed up this rope ladder... I love my buff husband!

Bryce is so entertaining and fun to have around... we simply can't help taking so many pictures! We have happily fallen into the "new parent" routine where everything revolves around our new baby. We sometimes go to bed at 8:30, or whatever time Bryce falls asleep. I am sure we'll get into a more normal routine once he's a little older, but in the meantime we do whatever he cries (tells) us to do...and we are loving every minute! He is growing so fast and is such a cute boy... I wanted to make sure we shared some of his pictures with the rest of you! Enjoy!
